Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) funding is allocated for children who are known to be eligible for free school meals currently or have been eligible at any point during the previous 6 years. The PPG is £1320 per eligible child. This funding is to be spent by schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged children and close the gap between them and their peers.

Each year we analyse the individual needs of our children who have received the additional funding and then plan for the monies to be spent in the most appropriate way. In the recent past this has included paying the salaries of teaching assistants to deliver targeted interventions, purchasing specific resources to develop early reading, writing and mathematical skills, providing support with attendance and safeguarding issues and subsidising the cost of uniform and paid for after-school clubs.

If you are in receipt of the following benefits your child could be eligible for Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) funding. This is additional funding given to support children in school. Currently this is £1320 per child.

Income support

Income based job seekers allowance

Guarantee element of state pension credit

Child tax credit (with an income exceeding £16900) and not receiving working tax credit
